When Mrs. Hilton first approached me about a retirement cake for her husband, a pharmacist, the first thing I thought was prescription bottle! It was just perfect.
Then, I went home & thought prescription bottle? How on earth am I going to do that?
The cake is 8 layers of Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting. It is covered in fondant & decorated with a gumpaste cap.
The prescription itself is for 10 mg of Valium. Most doctors today prescribe Diazapam, but I thought it was a nice touch to use an older version of the drug. The instruction inscription is: "Take as many as needed to relax & enjoy your long deserved retirement!"
